According to this article, the Trump Administration wants to hit Chinese-made vessels with tariffs in order to help US ship building companies and to curb Chinese market share? I think that would really cause an uproar through the maritime industry if vessels have to pay additional (likely large) fees when they dock at a US port? I’m sure these shipping companies will be more than happy to absorb these costs and definitely not pass it on to the various importers…
What about the possibility this causes companies to not even want to dock here anymore and the US loses out on that?
