The announcement we knew could be coming, thanks mainly to Shein and Temu, occurred today. The White House has officially announced proposed executive order that would keep imports subject to products covered by tariffs imposed under Sections 201 or 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, or Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, from using the de minimis rule like we’ve seen the EU propose earlier this year.
Guess we’ll see how this affects their stronghold in the global markets or if it basically winds up costing its customers more.
